Could there be a Bill Belichick to the New England Patriots type trade situation brewing?

The Oakland Raiders are having internal discussions about a potential trade for current San Francisco 49ers head coach, Jim Harbaugh and at least one league source believes they're the favorite to actually pull off a deal, according to a recent tweet from ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The New York Jets are also reported to be interested.

Harbaugh has worn out his welcome in San Francisco despite a continued run of success that includes three NFC Championship Game appearances and a Super Bowl loss to the team led by his brother John, the Baltimore Ravens.

His grating, agitating personality and consistent demands for more money and more control have apparently caused many in the San Francisco organization, including CEO Jed York and general manager Trent Baalke, to sour on him.

The Raiders, who earlier this season fired Dennis Allen and replaced him with interim head coach Tony Sparano, have been an organization mired in failure in the recent past.

A deal for Harbaugh, whose wife has stated her interest in remaining in the Bay Area long term, would make almost too much sense.

He's a micro-manager and his personality can apparently be over-bearing, but for a team like the Raiders or the Jets, who could use an injection of focus and control, Harbaugh may be the perfect fit and entirely worth whatever compensation they may have to give up in order to acquire him.
