Two investigators in Texas who allegedly stole over hundreds of thousands worth of rare comic books while working an embezzlement have been arrested by the FBI.

Dustin Deutsch, 41, and Lonnie Blevins, 39, were indicted by a grand jury with felony theft by a public servant and tampering with evidence, reported The Associated Press.

The men were on assignment when they committed the crime. Deutsch and Blevins were investigating attorney Anthony Chiofalo, who stole about $9 million from a crane manufacturing company.

With the stolen money, Chiofalo bought a first-edition Batman comic worth $900,000, among other valuables. He was later sentenced to 40 years in prison, reported AP.

The stolen items were confiscated by authorities and locked away in storage that Deutsch and Blevins had the key to. The pair allegedly went into the storage, stole the vintage comics and sold them in Chicago.

Belvins was arrested in Feb. 2013 and pleaded guilty to the charges in May. He is awaiting his sentencing.

Deutsch resigned and was arrested preceding Belvins' arrest. Deutsch is currently behind held with a combined bail of $405,000.
