Battlestar Galactica fans and theme park fans alike will be happy to hear that Universal Studios Singapore (USS) will re-open the Battlestar Galactica: Human vs. Cylon roller coaster in early 2015.

Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) made the announcement in a blog post on Friday, adding that the ride will return with new two-seat ride vehicles intended to provide a "more intimate and personal ride experience," according to Channel News Asia. However, no changes have been made to the track itself.

The ride, billed as the world's tallest duelling roller coaster, hasn't been open since July of 2013, when it was closed indefinitely for review. USS announced the closing in August last year, but did not provide a reason for it, or the length of time it would take for the review to be completed.

The testing process normally takes several months to complete, and thousands of testing cycles are typically required for rides before they can receive certification for opening.

The ride's closing in July 2013 was the most recent time it had to be shut down, the previous time being in early 2010 shortly after its launch, and it wouldn't re-open until February 2011, Yahoo! Entertainment reported.

Battlestar Galactica: Human vs. Cylon is based on the hit sci-fi TV series produced by Universal Cable Productions and is one of USS's main attractions.

RWS said it will release the exact re-opening date soon.
