Arizona improved to 5-0 after Tuesday's close 72-68 win against Kansas State, earning a spot in the next round of the Maui Invitational.  Junior center Kaleb Tarczewski led the Wildcats with 18 points, sophomore forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson grabbed eight rebounds and senior guard T.J. McConnell dished out six assists to go with seven points.

The game came down to two free throws made by Hollis-Jefferson, which sealed Arizona's win with four seconds left.

"It kind of shows how resilient this team is," McConnell said, via ESPN.  "The score was going back and forth, and you weren't really sure which way the score was going to go.  I mean, we just played hard."

To see that kind of resilience made coach Sean Miller happy, especially since the win against Kansas State provided his team their first real test of the season.

"We're very, very proud of tonight's win," said Miller.  "We feel like we beat a great team, and that's why you come to Maui: to challenge yourself on a neutral court like we just did."

Aztecs junior forward Winston Shepard is well aware of how well Arizona plays.

"This will be my fourth time playing them, I'm 0-3 so far and I just want to be able to get a win," he said.  "We're just two great teams in a lot of the same tournaments, I guess."

San Diego State's fifth win came Monday in a 74-57 rout of Pittsburgh, in which freshman guard Trey Kell led with 15 points.
