Brock Rumlow a.k.a. Crossbones managed to escape death at the end of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," and actor Frank Grillo wants Marvel to further explore his villainous character in the next "Captain America" film.

"['Winter Soldier'] was only a taste of what's to come with the next film, and I couldn't be more humbled and excited," Grillo told Entertainment Weekly.

"[Crossbones is] a bada**. He is just vicious. I like the idea that it's no holds barred. I love the physicality. We all know what Crossbones represents in this world."

A S.H.I.E.L.D. operative and member of Cap's STRIKE team, Rumlow unveiled himself as a covert Hydra agent in "The Winter Soldier" and helped the subversive organization run S.H.I.E.L.D. underground. The HYDRA revelation continues to reverberate throughout the Marvel Universe, in particular its TV show "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

Marvel has not confirmed Grillo's role in "Captain America: Civil War," but it sounds like the studio wants him to suit up again.

"They just kind of called and said, 'What kind of shape are you in? We're going to need a body scan.' They scan your body so that whatever you wear fits you like glove."

"Captain America: Civil War that will pit Captain America against his fellow Avenger, Iron Man. The 51-year-old action star is excited for the mash-up and the introduction of the latest cinematic character, Black Panther.

"I hear Iron Man is in 'Captain America 3' - he's got a big role - and the Black Panther. It sound like this Civil War is going to be pretty interesting," Grillo said.

"Captain America: Civil War" will premiere on May 6, 2016.
