After the huge success of "Fallout 3" and the extension "Fallout 3: New Vegas," fans of the franchise have been eagerly waiting for the next installment of the popular post-apocalyptic RPG shooter to be announced.

A lot of the rumors seem to hint that the most likely place for the announcement of the new game will be at this year's E3, particularly during Xbox's presentation.

Several new titles were announced for the next generation Xbox One gaming console at a Microsoft press event on Monday, including the next game in the hugely popular "Halo" series by 343 Studios. But that doesn't mean the company hasn't saved a few surprises for the actual event.

Many expect the new title to be Xbox One exclusive, however, new evidence leaked from a Swedish retailer has gone viral indicating the game might be released soon and for PS4. The website WebHallen, has created listings for several new games like "Red Dead Redemption 2" and "Uncharted 4."  "Fallout 4" is among the games listed, and expected to be announced at E3, however no one has made these claims official with any kind of confirmation.

Bethesda, the company responsible for making Fallout, has kept any information, if there is any, tightly under wraps so far. The company told insiders they were planning to make an announcement about a new project on May 15, six days before announcement of the Xbox One. The announcement was postponed. This has led many to believe that whatever Bethesda is working on, Xbox One wanted the announcement to happen at E3.

iDigitalTimes reports rumors about the "Fallout 4" taking place in Boston Mass. are false. That's not to say the game won't take place in the city, simply that there are neither official nor legitimate means of information out there reporting this information. The report was based on a Reddit user named "GNR_Informant" who wrote a post saying that his friends at Bethesda were scouting the Boston area for the new game. He later retracted that post, calling it a lie. However, rumors of a Boston-based post apocalyptic "Fallout 4" have remained strong.
