Rebecca Romijn originated the 'X-Men' character Mystique for the big screen in 2000's "X-Men." She would like to reprise her role, but realizes it may prove difficult considering Jennifer Lawrence now possesses the role.

"I'd do it absolutely," Romijn told Headlines & Global News. "But they have their Mystique right now and she's unbelievable. I'm thrilled to share the role with her. She's as cool as can be, and a great actress and an Academy Award winner."

The 42-year-old actress did make a brief cameo as the "older Mystique" in the 2011 film "X-Men: First Class," which debuted Lawrence's Mystique. Each actress signed on for three films as the all-blue mutant villain. Lawrence will finish her stint in the upcoming "X-Men Apocalypse" (unless she signs on for more films).

In addition to "X-Men," Romijn joined the Marvel mutants in "X-Men 2" and "X-Men: The Last Stand."

The role of Mystique requires an intense makeup process, something Romijn doesn't miss. She only requires 15 minutes in the chair for her role in the new TNT series "The Librarians."

"I was in the makeup chair the least amount of time, out of the entire cast," she said.

"The Librarians" debuts on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. with a two-hour premiere on TNT. She co-stars with John Larroquette, Christian Kane, John Kim and Lindy Booth. Noah Wyle, Jane Curtain and Bob Newhart will also reprise their roles from "The Librarian" TV movies.
