The just-released single from 16-year-old singer-songwriter Courtney Rau is zipping up the charts. "Looks 2 Good 2 B Bad"  is currently at No. 37 on Billboard's Indicator Top 40 Chart and No. 74 on Mediabase's Top 40 Chart. The single's success sets the stage for Rau's debut album due out in 2015.

The young on-the-rise star has been performing across the country. She sang at the Chicago Summer Country Jam and he opened for Joe Diffie. To kick off the holiday season, she will be in New York on Dec. 18 to perform at The Bitter End.

Rau is working with producer Joe Vulpis, who produced Lady Gaga. Through their collaboration, Vulpis has helped the singer to hone her style, combining country pop with street edge.  Her hard work has paid off as her first single, "Shake," hit the Billboard Top 40, as well as her subsequent single, "In The Moment."

Rau wrote "Looks 2 Good 2 B Bad" with Vulpis and Kristi Mana, who has penned songs for Blake Shelton, Big & Rich and Gretchen Wilson.

With a sound that Rau describes as "somewhere between Avril Lavigne and Taylor Swift," the teenage star reveals she draws on an array of musical influences, from The Beatles and Madonna to Garth Brooks and Carrie Underwood.
