Square Enix has confirmed what gamers have waited for more than seven years to happen: "Kingdom Hearts III" is a go!

At an E3 2013 press briefing, Square Enix announced that "Kingdom Hearts III" is currently in development for the PlayStation 4 (PS4). This confirmation followed the company's announcement that "Final Fantasy Versus XIII" is also coming to PS4 under it's new title "Final Fantasy XV."

The game developer showed a teaser of the new "Kingdom Hearts" at the E3 press conference. No Disney or Final Fantasy characters appear in the video.

Square Enix did not confirm a release date and speculation about the trailer's "currently in development" line at the end makes it seem like it is potentially no where ready to be released.

The successful collaboration between Square Enix and Disney Interactive was last seen in "Kingdom Hearts II" on the PlayStation 2 in 2006.

The story follows Sora as he ventures into the worlds with Donald, Goofy and a dark-cloaked Mickey Mouse. They battle against creatures called the Heartless and find themselves up against a new mummy-wrapped ruler of unknown origin.

Another highly anticipated game Square Enix unveiled is "Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII."

In "Final Fantasy XIII," players follow the story of the heroine Lightning as she has awakened from a deep slumber. Shenow finds herself on an urgent mission to prevent the destruction of the world, which is set to occur in 13 days' time.

According to reports, the game contains a ticking clock that counts down whenever the player is not in a menu or in battle. There are ways to add time to the countdown such as completing certain side-quests.

Lightning will be fighting alone equipped with three different battle stances called schema, and each of the trio have its own unique abilities as well as a personal ATB meter. Stances are tied to different outfits that Lightning wears, like the heroines of "Final Fantasy X-2" battle system.
