The reign of Queen Latifah on daytime television has ended.

Her syndicated daytime talk show will halt production on Dec. 31, midway through its second season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. New episodes will continue to air on CBS stations through March before ending forever.

"We want to thank Dana, the producers and the entire staff of 'The Queen Latifah Show' for creating a program that we are all very proud of," Sony Pictures Television said in a statement. "Thank you also to our terrific station partners and advertisers who supported the show." Queen Latifah's birth name is Dana Owens.

Queen Latifah learned of the news in a full staff meeting on Friday morning, according to TMZ. The cancellation is most likely due to poor ratings and production costs.

The 44-year-old host wrote a thank you note to everyone involved with the show on her Facebook page.

"The Queen Latifah Show" aired a new episode on Friday, Nov. 21 with guests Jeffrey Wright from "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" and "Scandal" star Guillermo Diaz. The show will not air during the week of Thanksgiving, but will return on Dec. 1 with all new shows featuring guests Jennifer Aniston, Julianne Hough and her mother Rita Owens.

The talk show was the second syndicated series for the singer. She hosted another show with the same title from 1999 to 2001 that was tagged as a "Dear Abby for the Hip-Hop Generation."
