Evander Kane, a tough power forward who plays with serious strength and grit and isn't afraid to drop the gloves when necessary, just seems like the kind of guy who should be wearing the yellow and black and playing alongside Milan Lucic, doesn't he?

That could potentially end up being the case as the Boston Bruins and Winnipeg Jets may be discussing the possibility of a trade that would result in the high-profile forward landing in Boston, according to Eklund of Hockeybuzz.com.

"According to a source VERY CLOSE to the situation, the Jets and Bruins have re-kindled discussions regarding a possible deal that would send Evander Kane and a prospect to Boston for a top 6 forward (possibly Eriksson) and Torey Krug. The deal has been discussed A LOT and there is a general belief, among those I am talking to, that such a deal could get done."

It's somewhat surprising to hear Krug's name included, as the team has suffered defensively with the loss of captain Zdeno Chara to a knee injury. Adam McQuaid was also injured recently, further depleting their veteran d-corps. There have been a number of young defenders who have stepped up in Chara's absence, but they haven't played to the level that you'd think general manager Peter Chiarelli or head coach Claude Julien would be ok with losing another key defensive piece.

Loui Eriksson, 29, has seen his scoring numbers steadily decrease since the 2008-09 season when he was still with the Dallas Stars, but he's had a quality opening to the current campaign, with three goals and eight assists.

Kane has two goals and four assists thus far this season but has only played in 13 games due to injury.
