Snowy the dog gave its owner, Brandon, and Aimie Terry an unexpected surprise when he recently birthed 19 puppies. The number is just five short of the most puppies to be littered at a time, 24, according to Guinness World Records.

"We had made an appointment to take her into the vet, and they did an X-ray, and found out there were 15 spines in the X-ray," said Brandon to WHTM. "It's a shocker, but I'm glad that they're all here," Brandon Terry told WHTM. 

The doggies came into the world three weeks early while Brandon was out beautifying the couple's yard WHTM reported.

The first six animals were born at the Terry's residence. The remaining 13 were labored at a local animal hospital, and can now see with their eyes.

"Right now they're into exploring and playing, fighting with each other," Aimie Terry told WHTM.

The Terrys plans to locate homes for the canines, who are expected to become about three feet in height.
