"The most pleasant run-ins can happen in the most unexpected place."

James Van Der Beek tweeted that sentiment along with a photo of him and his "Dawson's Creek" co-star Joshua Jackson on Saturday night. The two ran into each other at a party and Van Der Beek obliged fans of the '90s teen drama with a pic of the stars' reunion.

A full cast reunion may not happen soon for the show's stars that include Katie Holmes and Michelle Williams. Each has kept busy since "Dawson's Creek" last aired in 2003.

Jackson currently stars on the new Showtime series "The Affair" which airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. Van Deer Beek will star in the new "CSI" spin-off "CSI: Cyber," premiering early next year.

Despite their busy schedules, the former cast members have tried to keep in touch over the past 10-plus years.

"You know, we all still keep in touch and support each other," Holmes said during a Q&A at the SoHo Apple Store in New York on Nov. 14. "And luckily, we all have been able to stay busy. We had a really wonderful time. It was six years of our lives, and we were all really passionate about making it the best it could be. We really believed in ourselves."

The 35-year-old actress added, "I love them all so dearly. I'm so excited for everyone and proud. I can't believe... it seems like yesterday, and then it seems like a hundred years ago when we made it. We really did have a good time."

Creator Kevin Williamson and showrunner Greg Berlanti will hold a reunion with their old show's writers and producers at next summer's ATX Television Festival. The team will participate in a Writer's Room Reunion panel at the festival in June.

"'Dawson's Creek' and Kevin Williamson changed my life and gave me a career," Berlanti told E! News. "Nothing could be more exciting then to be back with so many people I respect and admire than my fellow writers from the show... and our amazing creator, Kevin."

"Dawson's Creek" launched the careers for many of today's top TV showrunners including Julie Plec ("The Vampire Diaries"), Rob Thomas ("Veronica Mars"), Liz Tigelaar ("Bates Motel") and more, who will all participate in the panel.
