The cancellation comes a day after the cable network cut "Franklin & Bash," which finished its fourth last month. TNT also gave "Dallas" the hook after three seasons, unfortunately ending on a cliff-hanger.

On "Perception," McCormack starred as an eccentric neuroscience professor with paranoid schizophrenia who helped the FBI solve complex cases. He co-starred with Rachael Leigh Cook, Arjay Smith, LeVar Burton and Kelly Rowan. TNT will air the show's remaining three episodes in February.

"Franklin & Bash" starred Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar. These cancellations come under the new administration of TNT president Kevin Reilly, who will push the network toward edgier and more serialized fare.

"You need to be really resonant in this day and age, and you've got to carve out your spot in the cultural landscape because there's a lot of stuff out there," Reilly told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this month.

TNT premiered three new series this summer including "The Last Ship," "Murder in the First" and "Legends." The first two received second season renewals, while a decision still remains unannounced for "Legends."

The network will launch a new series "The Librarians" based off its successful "The Librarian" TV movies starring Noah Wyle. Two new shows, "Public Morals and "Proof," will also premiere sometime next year.

TNT is also home to "Falling Skies," "Rizzoli & Isles," "Major Crimes" and the unscripted series "Cold Justice."
