FitBit fans won't be able to find fitness trackers on Apple's online store right now, but the tech giant's retail stores are still selling them, for the time being.

The removal follows a month after Apple's plans to completely end sales for FitBit devices were leaked, according to Apple Insider. The Cupertino, California-based company has not said how long the products will remain available at its retail stores.

Apple's decision also comes after FitBit recently introduced three new fitness trackers, some of which allow users to monitor conditions such as their heart beat. These new devices are set to be released sometime in the near future.

While no specific reason has been revealed for Apple's removal of FitBit's bands from its website, FitBit's inability to work with Apple's developers tool HealthKit is speculated to be the main cause, CNET reported.

The fitness band maker said last week that it isn't looking at integrating with HealthKit, but added that if enough Apple customers ask for it, they may change their minds.

"The question we want to keep in mind when providing feedback is: What do you imagine a HealthKit integration would entail and what do you expect to get out of it?" FitBit asked on its forum. "Your voices are being heard. We're actively reviewing your responses and providing feedback to our product development team."

The FitBit One and the FitBit Flex are currently on sale at Apple's retail stores, so customers should act fast before those stores get the same treatment.
