Teen singer Justin Bieber confirmed through Twitter that he is officially a space tourist.

Justin Bieber and his manager Scooter Braun is set to go to space along with other celebrities confirming seat reservations on SpaceShipTwo after paying $250,000 each.

Richard Branson of Virgin Galactic tweeted on June 5, “Great to hear @justinbieber & @scooterbraun are latest @virgingalactic future astronauts. Congrats, see you up there!”

The Scaled Composites Model 339, or SpaceShipTwo, is a suborbital spaceplane designed for future space tourism developed by Virgin Galactic. It was officially revealed in California in March 2007 and had successfully completed its series of test flights in April 2013. The developers are sure that the SpaceShipTwo is ready as it had made 25 successful roundtrips. However, they plan to complete the series of 100 test flights to maximize passenger safety.

Virgin Galactic aims to start its first flight in 2014. Early reservations began at $200,000 but have increased by $250,000 this year. It received about 65,000 applicants for the first 100 tickets in 2007 and had 574 paid tourists as of this year. The price of the ticket will increase once it reaches 1,000 paid passengers.

The tour will last for 2.5 hours but will stay only for five minutes in space. We are not sure of the exact flight schedule of the teen star as the spaceplane has a capacity of only six passengers, two of it reserved for the crew so that leaves four passengers per flight. Prior to them reserving seats, there were already 600 ahead of them including other famous celebrities Angelina Jolie, Ashton Kutcher and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Meanwhile, the teen’s California neighbors were delighted about the news not because they are fans but they consider this a good riddance. They have been complaining to the homeowners’ administration about the teen’s unwarranted parties and habitual speeding.

So what is he planning to do in space? Well, Justin Bieber made a tweet about it.

“@richardbranson @scooterbraun @virgingalactic let’s shoot a music video in SPACE!! #nextLEVEL.”
