The final piece of the Gibbs ex-wife puzzle will be revealed when "NCIS" returns from its winter hiatus.

The CBS procedural has cast Jeri Ryan to play the team leader's (Mark Harmon) second ex-wife, and third wife overall, Rebecca. She will make her debut in a January 2015 episode.

"After 12 seasons there was still one ex-wife to cast opposite Gibbs and we found her in the beautiful and talented Jeri Ryan. We're all very excited to have Jeri join us for a storyline that's chock full of surprises," executive producer Gary Glasberg said in a statement.

"NCIS" has rolled out Gibbs' former wives slowly. In the third season finale, audiences learned of Gibbs' first wife, Shannon (Darby Stanchfield), who was murdered along with their daughter Kelly. Next, the show introduced Gibb's fourth and last wife Stephanie (Kathleen York) in a season five episode.

Diane (Melinda McGraw), his first wife after Shannon, has made three appearances. She also married and divorced Gibbs' best friend, FBI agent Fornell.

Glasberg first revealed the idea of introducing the last unseen wife earlier this year to TVLine. He promised she would make her debut this season and that it would be "[storyline] gold."

Ryan starred on "Star Trek: Voyager" for four seasons as well as "Boston Public," "Shark," and "Body of Proof." She recently appeared on "Major Crimes" and "Helix."

"NCIS" will air its next new episode on Tuesday, Nov. 11. The team will investigate a fraudulent charity that preys upon families searching for missing military personnel.
