Crossovers between Japanese manga and American comics don't occur all that often. They are, typically, two great tastes that do not taste great together. While Marvel Comics has published a few manga-inspired creations before (its series of Marvel "Mangaverse" comics were well-received in the early 2000's), it looks like the publisher is planning to go all in with this latest cultural mash-up.

Marvel's Senior V.P. C.B. Cebulski revealed on Twitter that a crossover is planned between Marvel Comics and Hajime Isayama's "Attack on Titan." Check out his series of tweets regarding this project below:

According to an article on Comic Book Resources, "Attack on Titan" is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity was nearly wiped out by giant creatures called Titans. The story follows Eren Yeager, a young man who enlists in the military with his friends after a Titan devours his mother. The series, currently ongoing, details his adventures in the army as he discovers his ability to transform into a Titan.

I, for one, am all for this. I love manga and I love American comics...I love all forms of sequential art, really. Hopefully, these kinds of crossovers won't end here because now I NEED to see the Guardians of the Galaxy take on the Star Force from "Space Battleship Yamato."

Hey, it could happen...
