Marvel is launching a female superhero film to compete with DC’s “Wonder Woman” solo movie.

Marvel Studios announced Carol Danvers is coming to the big screen in 2018, along with six other films in their movie lineup:

May 6, 2016: Captain America: Civil War
November 4, 2016: Doctor Strange

July 28, 2017: Thor: Ragnarok

However, fans may get to see Captain Marvel on the big screen in the upcoming “Avengers Age of Ultron.” Bleeding Cool reports “Captain Marvel” comic book sales have dropped, even with rising digital sales numbers.

Marvel is allegedly aiming to garner interest in Captain Marvel before she appears in their cinematic universe.

“But more importantly the comic has strong support from editorial as an important book that Marvel should publish,”But even more important than that, they seem to be under the impression that, yes, Captain Marvel as Carol Danvers will be appearing in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, which might boost the sales of the comic book.”
