Concerned citizens at the Dallas/Fort Worth airport took down an obnoxious homophobe as he spewed vile insults and kicked an innocent man wearing a pink shirt on Oct. 23.

Andrew Kennedy, a nearby passenger at the waiting gate, captured the entire altercation on camera. The video starts with the victim typing on his smartphone when his attacker, who appeared under the influence, walks over to him and tries to grab the phone out of his hand.

The attacker then discards his coat, as if he's gearing up for a physical fight. Another man, wearing a black cowboy hat, then intervenes and tries to diffuse the situation. He warns the homophobe that his actions could land him in jail and then he asks, "What are you upset about?"

"Queers is what I am upset about," the attacker says. "This f****t right here."

The attacker then turns his attention back to the man in the pink shirt and yells, "Shove it up you a** man, see how that feels!" Within seconds, he kicks the pink-shirted man and about six other passengers and a public safey officer tackle the attacker to the ground. One of the tacklers loses his shoe during the take down.

Two more officers of the Dallas/Fort Worth Department of Public Safety eventually restrain, handcuff and arrest the man. They then escorted him out of the airport.

One passenger asked the attacker, while he was subdued, why he targeted the innocent man.

"You want me to tell you the reason why I did it? Because this is America, that's why. The same reason you get to live to breathe to walk black," he said.

Kennedy, whose footage of the attack went viral, called the man "absolutely crazy."

Kennedy's brother Niel also witnessed the altercation. "We saw a very troubled man," he said in the video. "We hope that he was under the influence of some kind of substance, because if he wasn't and that's his true personality, then he's going to have a long road in front of him."
