Google sent a note to app developers stating that Android Lollipop 5.0 will hit the devices starting Nov. 3.

Google, the world's largest mobile OS provider, will soon start pushing its latest version of Android, the Lollipop 5.0. In a note sent out to app developers, the internet search titan said the latest version of Android will be available to consumers starting Nov. 3. The note comes as a reminder for developers to get their apps in shape ahead of the major roll-out. Google also added a link to the Android 5.0 SDK and said apps that are ready can be published to Google Play Store, the digital marketplace for Android applications.

This isn't the first time Google has revealed the date for Android Lollipop roll-out to consumers. According to Android Police, which found Google's latest note to developers, Google previously shared the news when it announced the availability of Android 5.0 SDK last week. Google has already confirmed that its latest Nexus 6 smartphone and Nexus 9 tablet will be the first devices to get the latest Android version. Around the same time, Google will roll-out the update to other Nexus devices, such as "Nexus 4, 5, 7 (2012 & 2013), and 10 devices, as well as to Google Play edition devices."

"Starting November 3rd, Nexus 9 will be the first device available to consumers that will run Android 5.0. Therefore, it is a great time to publish on Google Play, once you've updated and tested your app," the company said last Friday. "Even if your apps target earlier versions of Android, take a few moments to test them on the Android 5.0 system images, and publish any updates needed in advance of the Android 5.0 rollout."

Google's first preference for latest Android updates is given to the Nexus lineup. But, other device makers also jumped the bandwagon with release dates soon after. As for Lollipop, HTC said the Android 5.0 will be available to One M8 and M7 within 90 days of receiving the final build of the software from Google, suggesting a time frame sometime before February. Motorola, which has always been among the first batch to get Android updates, said it will update its first and second-generation of Moto X devices and Moto 5 later this year, CNET reported.

Samsung, LG, Sony and other popular Android handset makers are yet to announce the launch details for Lollipop.
