An Oregon teacher is being investigated after a video surfaced of her allegedly ripping a student's shirt off during a classroom argument.

Sara Rue was sitting in her English class at Roberts Alternative High School Annex when an argument broke out between her teacher and another student, KPTV reported.

Rue, who suffers from anxiety attacks when in a stressful environment, got up from her seat and tried to leave the classroom, according to a video of the incident Rue's friend took with her cellphone. But the 15-year-old's teacher, Carrie McCann, allegedly grabbed a hold of Rue's shirt and yanked her to the floor, pulling her shirt over her head.

"My entire shirt came off and my entire class saw me naked," the embarrassed teen told KPTV.

"She doesn't have any right to put her hands on me," Rue said.

McCann was apparently upset with another student for causing trouble in class before the altercation with Rue. Police investigated the shirt incident and determined the teacher did not act criminally.

But schools administrators at the Salem high school placed McCann on administrative leave while they figure out what led to the humiliating event.

"Why did she put her hands on the student to begin with?" Salem-Keizer schools spokesman Jay Remy told KPTV. "That needs to be determined through investigating to see if there was a legitimate reason to have her hands on the student in the first place."

While Rue admits she could have handled the situation differently, she said her teacher in no way should have touched her. Seconds after her shirt came off, Rue tried to explain to McCann why she had to leave.

"I could not be in here, I was hella stressed out," Rue blurted out to her teacher while standing in her bra in front of the class, according to the video. She then pleaded for everyone to turn around.

School officials did not say how long McCann, a district teacher of 23 years, will be on paid leave, the station reported.
