South Africa, ranked the No. 2 ODI team behind Australia, opens their series against New Zealand on Tuesday at Bay Oval.  The South African squad has compiled some impressive wins over the last six months, pushing them up the rankings and making them the heavy favorite to win the series.

"We have played a good brand of cricket for the last five or six months," South Africa coach Russell Domingo said, via CricBuzz.com.  "We beat India, Sri Lanka away, Australia and Zimbabwe away so we are quite happy with where we are at the moment."

Despite being ranked ahead of New Zealand's seventh-ranked squad, South Africa won't underestimate playing New Zealand on the road.  South Africa's bowlers will have an easier outing with the absence of New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor, who's by far the best player on the squad and out with a calf strain.  The New Zealand squad will be shorthanded further: Adam Milne is sidelined, and Kane Williamson will miss the first match.

Weather.com forecasts a partly cloudy day with temperatures reaching as high as 63 degrees Fahrenheit with a 20 percent chance of rain.
