Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura has given fans an update on the projects he’s working on since announcing his departure from “Final Fantasy XV”.

Though Nomura is still working as the director of “Kingdom Hearts 3”, he’s still very much involved in Square Enix projects. According to Famitsu (via Kotaku), Nomura helped create a “Square Enx” version of Japanese virtual idol, Hatsune Miku, for her Hatsune Miku art exhibit in New York City this month.

"When they approached me saying 'we'd like you do draw Miku,' I was taken aback. I wondered, 'why me?'" Nomura told Famitsu. "Apparently, Crypton had polled fans outside of Japan. I've been told that the design for Lightning were very popular, so I suppose that had an influence."

Nomura also helped redesign DC’s Catwoman of the Variant series for the Play Arts Kai line of figures, which debuted at New York Comic Con 2014.

“This Play Arts Kai Batman design was something I thought up years ago." Nomura said. "A while ago, Warner Brothers approached us with the offer for a Batman game, and this is the design I came up with. That game never came to fruition and the design was laid to rest."

Fans noticed a small Joker card on display with the Play Arts Kai’s Batman and Catwoman figures. Nomura claimed he is currently working on another Batman project for the line, but didn’t confirm if it was a redesign of the Joker action figure.

"I've received several other [design] offers other than the recent announcements, and it just a coincidence that some of the announcements happened to overlap." Nomura told Famitsu.

"It's not that I've been focused on work outside of Japan, but people around me are constantly saying, 'you should target overseas,' so I guess the offers just came naturally."
