You couldn't ask for a more competitive semifinal match.  No. 2 world-ranked Sharapova versus No. 3 world-ranked Azarenka -- the winner advances to the French Open final, Sports.uk.co reports.  Sharapova is coming off a comeback victory against Jelena Jankovic, needing three sets to win after dropping the first, 0-6.

"I knew that after the first set that I had to change things around," Sharapova told reporters.  "I just had to erase the chapter and move forward.  I still felt I was in the match and I broke her in the first game (of the second)."

She did comeback, finishing the last two sets 6-4, 6-3.

Azarenka, meanwhile, had her own impressive win against Maria Kirilenko, finishing 7-6 (3), 6-2, to advance to her first ever French Open semifinal.

Thursday's matchup will be good.  Both women know each other well; the semifinals match will be their 13th career match against each other.  Azarenka has thus far bested Sharapova, 7-5.  In the two Grand Slams they've faced each other in, Azarenka is 2-0.

Everything is on the line.  The winner goes to the finals for a chance at the title.
