Miranda Lambert, LeAnn Rimes and Scarlett Johansson are teaming up to form a crew more dynamic than Johannson's "The Avengers" character. Instead of saving the world, this trio is out to save homeless dogs all across America.

Lambert's pet adoption efforts are legendary, and now the singer is taking her love of homeless pets to television for a new holiday special - with a lot of star power backing her up.

Lambert, Rimes and Johansson, along with Josh Duhamel, Kristen Bell, Fergie, Paula Abdul, Betty White and Kesha, will take part in "The Great American Dog-A-Thon" on Fox this Thanksgiving, reports Nashville Gab.The two-hour special will feature rescue dog stories, viral videos of people rescuing dogs and musical tributes. The special will also honor those who spend their lives trying to find homes for homeless dogs.

As an added pet adoption push, the stars taking part will show off dogs that are currently available for adoption and give instructions on how fans can give the animals new homes.

"The Great American Dog-A-Thon" will air Thanksgiving night, Thursday, Nov. 27, on Fox from 8-10 p.m. ET/PT.
