The Phoenix Suns will likely trade swingman Gerald Green, according to Grantland's Zach Lowe.  Two teams possibly interested in him are the Los Angeles Lakers and the Chicago Bulls.

Green had a breakout season last year with the Suns, averaging 15.8 points while shooting 40 percent from beyond the arc.  While it might have been a fluke season, there would be a market for him if Phoenix wanted to move him.  Lowe, in his article about bold predictions, believes Green won't be in Phoenix beyond February.

"It's a matter of math.  The Suns just inked (Eric) Bledsoe, Isaiah Thomas, Zoran Dragic, and the Morri to multiyear contracts, and they'll get an extra first-round pick from the Lakers at some point over the next three seasons," Lowe wrote Tuesday.  "Barring a big trade, the roster is damn near full going forward.  ... The Suns do have three starting-quality point guards, and those guys will eat up a lot of the shooting guard minutes.  Green is movable, and if the Suns can get a couple of second-rounders for him, they might pull the trigger."

Bleacher Report columnist Alec Nathan also predicted Green would be traded at some point this season.

"First, and perhaps most importantly, his contract is expiring after this season and he's due a meager $3.5 million during the 2014-15 campaign," Nathan wrote Sept. 14.  "Second, the Suns have T.J. Warren waiting in the wings at small forward and recently re-signed P.J. Tucker to a three-year, $16.5 million deal.  With Tucker and Warren possessing a nice combination of shooting, raw scoring ability and perimeter defense, Green could be expendable once the season gets underway."

Reports in September named the Los Angeles Lakers as a good fit for Green, leading to the speculation they might make a move to acquire the 28-year-old.  The Chicago Bulls might also make a play for him, if only to add a much-needed scorer who can space the floor.
