“Game of Thrones” has added another septa to their season five cast. According to fan site WatchersOnTheWall, HBO has confirmed actress Hannah Waddingham has officially joined the production.

Waddingham reportedly set to play Septa Unella,“a septa serving the Faith of the Seven. As a member of the Most Devout, the highest ranking clergy, she enforces strict adherence to her religion’s laws.”

For those who have not read the novels, Septa Unella is one of the Holy Septas who attempt to get a confession out of Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) while she’s locked away. Knowing she has no other options, Cersei decides to tell Unella she is ready to admit to her crimes.

Unella brings Cersei to the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) and stays to help record her confession. Without giving too much away, the High Sparrow hears what Cersei has to say and decides on a punishment appropriate for her crimes.

Unella is one of the Septas present to protect Cersei as she completes the penance walk through the city of King’s Landing.

Cersei lands herself in jail after being caught in her lies. Cersei attempted to frame Margarey Tyrell of adultery. The High Sparrow doesn’t believe Margarey is capable of the crimes she’s accused of and promptly starts his own investigation.

The High Sparrow is able to find proof of Margarey’s innocence and it points to Cersei as the culprit of many crimes.

However, HBO’s “Game of Thrones” showrunners have taken many creative liberties with George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Fire and Ice” saga. Unella could bigger key player in the series, which is currently in production.
