Jon Stewart said heart disease and gun violence are bigger threats in America than the Ebola virus and ISIS.

"All I keep hearing is 'we must do whatever it takes to save American lives' - unless it's stopping the things that are actually killing Americans," Stewart said on "The Daily Show" Thursday.

However, he points out that other internal issues in the country that kill Americans - such as gun control and heart disease - are not getting as much attention from the government.

In his comedy news skit he played a number of clips of American newscasters saying they will do "whatever it takes" to stop ISIS and the Ebola epidemic from crossing the American boarder. After that he ironically plays a number of clips of American newscasters reporting excuses from the government when it comes to 600,000 people dying from heart disease every year.

"That's like Milwaukee disappearing every year. That's like if you took all the Americans killed by ISIS and Ebola, and added almost 600,000 to it..."

Stewart did the same with gun control, citing a Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence statistic that says 32,000 people a year (or 88 per day) are killed by a gun.

After making his point he cuts to a number of clips of American newscasters dismissing gun control laws saying it's criminals - rather than guns - that kill people.

"Criminals will never go through a background check," Sen. Lindsey Graham said in a clip.
