October continues to be a huge month for Apple with the tech giant now reported to be holding an event for its iPads on Oct. 16th.

The event is rumored to hold the debut of several new products from the Cupertino, Calif.-based company, such as an updated version of the iPad Air, iMacs featuring Retina displays, and a complete version of the OS X Yosemite operating system, according to The Verge.

Apple has used October in the past as a time to unveil new gadgets, such as the iPad Air, its revamped Mac Pro computer, and the iPad Mini with Retina display, which were launched in 2013.

The introduction of these devices last year also marked a change in Apple's launch schedule, since the company would release new iPads in the spring before 2012, The Verge reported.

The report follows a month after Apple was rumored to hold an event on Oct. 21st, though this source was found to be inaccurate.

Apple is also expected to make the new iPad 12.9 inches long, which is bigger than the current 9.7-inch iPad Air and 7.9-inch iPad Mini, the company's two biggest iPads, Gizmodo reported. The size is aimed at helping the device compete with Samsung's much bigger tablets.

The new device is rumored to receive other updates, such as the iPhone 5S's Touch ID home button, improved processors, a new anti-reflective screen surface, and a goldpagne coloring.

The event would follow one month after Apple unveiled its iPhone 6 and 6 Plus and gave a small look of its Apple Watch at the Flint Center, Re/code reported. No concert is expected at this event, which will take place Apple's Town Hall Auditorium in Cupertino as a "more laid-back affair."
