Sensoree joins the mind-reading headgear market with its new invention called NEUROTiQ, a plastic cloud-looking hat that is designed to read your thoughts.

The hat is the latest project Sensoree has developed in its research on externalized intimacy (extimacy), as the company looks to create devices that will help people with Sensory Processing Disorder, a symptom that those suffering from autism often have to deal with, according to ITProPortal.

An Emotiv EEG headset is included to help NEUROTiQ keep track of the wearer's neural activity. The hat also comes with a knitted nylon mesh frame that features 14 3D-printed globules of LEDs that change colors.

Sensoree explains on its website that it uses colors to represent different states of the brain, CNET reported. Delta (deep sleep) causes red, theta (meditation) results in orange, beta (consciousness) is yellow and green, and gamma (multi-sensory) causes blue, purple, and red.

It took the company over 130 hours to make the hat, which doesn't include the coding process. 61 hours were spent on the knitting process and 76 hours were spent on 3D printing.

"This new form of social media communicates to ourselves as well as another how we are feeling," said Kristin Neidlinger, founder of Sensoree. "These emotion-based designs promote body awareness, insight, spontaneity, and fun!"

While fans of mind-reading devices will be disappointed to hear that NEUROTiQ is not available to buy right now, they can still buy Sensor's emotion-displaying Mood Sweater.
