The recent roster moves made by the Cleveland Cavaliers indicate the team is building with an eye toward the future, something the Miami Heat failed to do during superstar LeBron James's four years there.  At least one indicates Cleveland could be getting ready to make another big trade this season.

Cleveland is preparing to be in championship contention for a long time.  Under new general manager David Griffin, the Cavaliers have made a series of roster moves that show Cleveland is trying to avoid the mistakes made by the Miami Heat.

Albert from Heathoops.com broke down Cleveland's moves thus far (via Twitter):

"Cavs have created potential dynasty of their own, but keep pressing on with view toward future.  They're now creating powerful trade assets.  ... Cavs have compiled 7 1st (round) picks over next 7 (years) + $16M of (nonguaranteed) salary for next season to offer in trade to teams looking to reduce pay roll.  ... Heat were only ever concerned about the moment.  Never valued draft picks, youngster, creative contract structuring, etc."

The $16 million of nonguaranteed salary comes from Keith Bogans, whom the Cavaliers reportedly traded for Thursday night, and Brendan Haywood.  Both contracts are appealing to teams in need of cap relief come July, when free agency starts, and gives Cleveland some solid trade bait for this season.

That being said, Cleveland looks poised to make a trade soon.  Mark Deeks of Shamsports.com said the Cavaliers are "thinking extremely big," which could mean the Cavaliers are getting ready to make a run at a much-needed rim protector, such as Denver Nuggets centers Timofey Mozgov or JaVale McGee.

The Cavaliers are already over the cap, but owner Dan Gilbert appears more than willing to pay whatever it costs to bring a championship to Cleveland.
