LG announced a new variant of its 2014 flagship, G3 Vigor, in the mid-range with HD Voice support on AT&T's network for just $50 with a two-year contract.

LG, the renowned smartphone maker, is expanding its smartphone offerings with a new G3-variant called the LG G3 Vigor. The new entry in the company's smartphone lineup brings an affordable option for those who are looking for a premium flagship experience with mid-range specs. The smartphone will be available on AT&T's network with support for quality HD Voice offering, which is becoming a standard across all major wireless carriers in the U.S.

Since the launch of the G3 smartphone in May, the Korean tech giant has added several models to its lineup. Some of these include the G3 Beat, a mini version of the flagship, G3 Stylus, which adds a S-Pen-like stylus to G3 and an all-new L series with mid-range specs. New releases by LG are widely seen as a competition to the giants like Samsung in the ever-expanding smartphone market.

LG G3 Vigor's launch on AT&T's network isn't the first for the mid-range smartphone, as it was  announced by Sprint last week. The smartphone also boasts support for HD Voice, Wi-Fi Calling and Sprint Spark in upgraded areas of the company's network. Sprint is offering the handset at a slightly cheaper rate than AT&T, for $299.99 off contract and $12.50 per month for 24 months under Sprint's Easy Pay.

AT&T is offering the G3 Vigor at $334.99 without any contract but also offers variable options to match consumer needs. Under AT&T Next, the smartphone sells for $13.96 per month for 18 months with zero down and $16.75 per month for 12 months or $49.99 with a two-year contract. The smartphone will be available in all AT&T online and retail stores starting Sept. 26.

"The LG G3 Vigor delivers on the G-Series promise of power and style, and has HD VoiceSM from AT&T," Morris Lee, LG's senior vice president and head of North American sales and marketing, said in a press statement, Monday. "This makes the LG G3 Vigor an appealing choice for consumers who want a sportier handheld size without sacrificing performance."

Some of the key features of the G3 Vigor include a 5-inch 720p display, a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 2,540mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat. It also borrows G3's premium features like the Laser Auto Focus and Knock Code.
