Microsoft has come to the rescue of iPhone and iPad users who have been facing trouble upgrading to the latest iOS8 software due to the device's storage issues. The world's largest software giant is offering up to 30GB  free OneDrive storage to all of its users, which is twice the original storage space. This should address the ongoing problem of iPhone and iPad owners as the additional 15GB storage can back up data from the camera roll. Those in need must act fast because the offer lasts only until end of this month.

"We've been listening to the commentary about storage on the new iPhones released today and we wanted to get you more storage right away," Douglas Pearce, OneDrive Group Program Manager, wrote in the company's official blog, last Friday. "We think you'll appreciate having more free storage while setting up your iPhone 6 or upgrading to iOS 8."

Microsoft's new offer might be to attract iOS device users but it does not ignore devices using Windows and Android. This means Android and Windows Phone smartphone users can also take advantage of the limited time offer of scoring the additional 15GB storage for camera roll clicks and videos.

The 30GB free storage can be activated by signing up for OneDrive on respective apps and activating auto upload feature in the camera roll. According to the company, 15GB storage will serve as a base for various files and the new 15GB will be reserved for camera roll uploads.

Once backed up with Microsoft's OneDrive, users can access files, photos and videos from almost any device without eating up the device's storage. This particular service is important for those who get limited storage options like iPhone users and mid-range phones that have low  storage.

To get started, OneDrive can be downloaded on PC and AndroidiOS, and Windows Phone for free.
