Calling all Batman fans! This new series is just what you've been waiting for.

Unlike the "Batman" movies we've seen before, "Gotham" tells the story of 12-year-old Bruce Wayne as he transforms from a young, rich kid to the infamous Batman, throughout the progression of the series. The show will follow James Gordon, a name "Batman" fans are very familiar with, and will reveal how he leapt from rookie detective to Police Commissioner, according to Fox. Gordon will attempt to restore the city of Gotham back to the way it was when he was a youngster.

Obviously, saving a city isn't an easy task. As the show works to provide a timeline of the evolution of the iconic "Batman" comic book characters, Fox will introduce Gotham's villains, including Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith), the future Joker and Catwoman, who will try to prevent Commissioner Gordon from being a hero.

"Gotham" begins with a terrible tragedy for Bruce Wayne. Both of his parents are killed in an accident, and Gordon is determined to help solve the mystery. The friendship between these two will be a continuing plot thread, and the Police Commissioner will aid Wayne to fill his destined role of Batman.

"Gotham" will premiere Monday, Sept. 22, at 8/7c on Fox.

ABC's "How To Get Away With Murder," the American legal series, was created by "ShondaLand" writer Peter Nowalk, and will be executively produced by Shonda Rhimes. Viola Davis will play a strong, commanding attorney and law professor by the name of Annalise DeWitt, the female lead of the show.

"Murder" is described as a sexy, suspense legal thriller that follows DeWitt and her ambitious law school students who become entangled in a murder mystery that could have major ramifications on their entire university, as well as change the course of their lives, according to Indiewire.

"Murder invites you to wonder, throughout its first hour, what (and who) it is about; those who play the game will get reeled in, real quick, and in turn possibly discover a new TV obsession," TV Line writes.

"How To Get Away With Murder" premieres on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 10p.m. on ABC.

Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) are back in CBS's return of the beloved sitcom, "The Big Bang Theory."

If you have some catching up to do, the show centers on a group of five friends living in Pasadena, California, two of which are roommates, Leonard and Sheldon, both physicists. Penny (Kaley Cuoco), a waitress and aspiring actress, lives across the hall and becomes Leonard's crush.

Two more of their friends include Howard (Simon Helberg), a mechanical engineer, and Raj (Kunal Nayyar), an astrophysicist. The group of brilliant, intelligent friends provides a lot of laughs for viewers, as each character tries to sort through their awkwardness to experience love, life, and laughter.

The first episode, titled "The Locomotive Interruption," will see Leonard and Amy (Mayim Bialik) going out to get Sheldon back (he has been gone for 45 days and his belongings were stolen). Amy enters the group of friends after being paired up with Sheldon on a dating website, according to The Christian Post.

Prepare for a lot of laughs with this circle of unique friends.

"The Big Bang Theory" Season 8 premieres back-to-back episodes on Monday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. on CBS.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," based on the Marvel Comics organization, will return for a second season to feature Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, along with his group of agents from the law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D.

His group consists of Grant Ward, Melinda May, Leo Fitz, Jemma Simmons, and new recruit and computer hacker, Skye, according to ABC.

In a world comprised of superheroes, S.H.I.E.L.D., a spy agency, attempts to handle new cases involving the supernatural. In season two, Coulson, along with his gang, will try to rebuild S.H.I.E.L.D. and gain trust back from the government.

"If Coulson's going to have to rebuild SHIELD in a way that's better this time, that's different - what's going to be a big part of doing it right is finding out who you can really trust," Clark Gregg said.

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 2 premieres on Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
