Keith Urban and wife Nicole Kidman have flown to Australia following the tragic death of her father, Dr. Antony Kidman, as reported by People.

Dr. Kidman's death in Singapore was reported Friday night, Sept. 12. He was in Singapore to see his youngest daughter, Antonia.

According to reports, Dr. Kidman, an award-winning Australian clinical psychologist, suffered a heart attack while he was having breakfast at Singapore's Tanglin Club. He was 75.

Urban was scheduled to perform at the Washington State Fair on Saturday night, but cancelled the show following the news. He posted the following statement on Twitter and Facebook:

"I'm so very sorry that I cannot perform this weekend. We are in a deep state of grief at the passing of Nic's Father and are heading to Australia to be with family. We want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for their love, prayers and support through this devastating loss."

Urban, a popular "American Idol" judge, won't be able to make the "American Idol" auditions going on this week in New York. Adam Lambert will take over for Urban at the judges table for the auditions. Lambert came in second in the "American Idol" competition in 2009.

Dr. Kidman was the director of the Royal North Shore Hospital's Health Psychology Unit and director of the Health Psychology Unit at the University of Technology in Sydney.

Dr. Kidman was close to his Oscar-winning daughter. In June, he accompanied both Nicole and Urban to the Swisse Celebrate Life Ball in Melbourne, where Nicole gushed about her father's presence there to the Herald.

When asked at the event to name something great in her life, the actress replied: "My family. My dad's here ... here's my dad," she said with pride, then added: "I've got my men here tonight."
