If you still think of Nick Jonas as the same old purity ring-wearing Disney Channel sweetheart, chances are, you're wrong.

In an interview with Huffington Post Live on Tuesday, the former Jonas Brothers member revealed that he no longer wears his purity ring - which was considered a symbolism to his promise with god to refrain from sexual activity until marriage.

But the 22-year-old "Jealous" singer added that despite abandoning his ring, his relationship with god has not been strained.

"This is a real growth in me and not something I'm doing anymore," he explained. "But I've got my set of values, things that are important to me now at this point in my life and that's all that matters. I've had an incredibly intense journey with faith and religion and my own growth. My belief in god is still very strong and important to me as a person and I think that's all that should matter. I grew up in a church environment and still have love for the church."

Early in his career, the singer alongside his brothers, Joe and Kevin, publicly displayed their rings and announced their committed to god and to themselves.

The "Camp Rock" actor, who is dating former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo, said that he will always "have love for the church," but that his views on Christianity has changed.

He continued: "There are a lot of things that I feel I agree with and things I don't. I grew up in a church environment... but what's important to me now in my life is my relationship with god and that I not be judged and that I not judge."

During the interview Jonas was also asked if he was nerves about his parents watching him have sex on screen for his new show "Kingdom."

"No, I wasn't," he said. "There's one scene in particular that I'm curious for people to see ... because it was such an emphasis like, 'Are you ready for this scene?' The emotional bill of it is pretty important, but also the physicality is kind of uncomfortable."
