A few months ago, it was announced that the former Superman, Brandon Routh, would be playing another DC Comics hero, physicist Ray Palmer, on the upcoming season of the CW hit, "Arrow." It was unknown at the time, as the casting announcement was somewhat vague, if Routh would also be playing Palmer's alter-ego "The Atom."

Routh confirmed during a radio interview that he has seen the designs for The Atom's costume, so it appears we will see him in red and blue tights once again at some point during the third season of "Arrow."

According to a transcription over at Comic Book.com, Routh stated: "It's a totally different suit, and I haven't been in it yet; I've only seen drawings. I really can't say too much about what the suit's going to look like...just that it's very different, and I don't believe it has a cape which doesn't really surprise anybody if you've seen the Atom in the comics."

Routh also said that Ray Palmer will offer a good amount of comedy in comparison to the often stoic Oliver Queen/Green Arrow.

"I think it's going to add a whole new element to the show that I think fans will like, whether they dislike Ray getting into the middle of the Oliver/Felicity relationship or not," he said.

The CW is set to premiere the third season of "Arrow" on October 8.
