Expanding its extensive portfolio of supported Chromecast apps, Google Tuesday announced new additions to the Chromecast portfolio suitable for "kids, music lovers and gamers."

In an official Chrome Blog, Google announced three new Disney apps - iHeartRadio, DramaFever and Twitch - for Chromecast streaming. Owners of the streaming dongle will have access to content from Watch Disney, Watch Disney Junior and Watch Disney XD to keep the kids entertained. Using a correspondent TV provider account, viewers can also live stream episodes and access on-demand content.

Google also brings a new addition under its "niche" apps category, called the DramaFever. This allows access to more than 15,000 international drama series, mostly from Latin America and Asia. Another noteworthy entry in the Google Chromecast apps is Twitch-a game-play video streaming service. Gamers can watch someone else's game play of any video game. Twitch, which was acquired by Amazon recently, has 60 million users and thousands of viewers for specific streaming channels.

Finally, Google introduced iHeartRadio for music lovers who can now tune in to more than 1,500 live radio stations from across the U.S. The new app will serve as an alternate to the existing music apps like Songza and Pandora.

The new apps are compatible with both Android and iOS devices and join the rich app gallery that works with Chromecast.

Google previously updated its Chromecast dongle with the much-awaited support for Android screen mirroring. The feature makes it more comparable to rival Apple TV, which offers similar service via AirPlay.
