A Pennsylvania State University Chipotle closed down last week after managers quit, citing a difficult work environment.

Most of the managers put their two weeks in at the chain, leaving Wednesday with this note on the door noting the "borderline sweatshop conditions" in the eatery:

Stephen Healy, Penn State student and part-time manager at the closed Chipotle, hung the sign on the door on his last day at the restaurant.

He told The Daily Collegian, Penn State's college newspaper, he wasn't trying to start a fight. He says he just wanted to bring awareness to the specific store's working conditions, which he does not believe are the same in all Chipotle locations.

The newspaper says employees at the Penn State Chipotle location were forced to work 10-11 hour shifts without a break to eat. They also wrote that the kitchen is not designed to handle the amount of business the store receives.

"Our Penn State restaurant was closed when a few employees quit, locking out a majority of others who are enthusiastic to return to work," Chris Arnold, a spokesman for Chipotle, said in an email to The Huffington Post.

Reports say this revolt appears unrelated to the striking for higher wages among other fast food restaurants in the country.
