Surge, a citrus-flavored Mountain Dew imitation that was discontinued by Coca-Cola about 12 years ago, has reappeared in limited supply on Monday, and is only available on Amazon, Bloomberg reported.

Described as the company's first ever e-commerce reintroduction, the news was announced by the "Surge Movement," a Facebook fan site, whose 128,000 members pushed for its return and paid for a billboard in Atlanta. Coke gave the drink an official Twitter account, too, so loyalists can "follow the brand's journey."

"Surge is back," the Facebook page's organizers announced, urging readers to buy and spread the word. "The Movement does not end here!"

Surge is listed as No. 7 on a Top 10 list of discontinued sodas on the website listserv.com, beating out Hubba Bubba Soda. Surge, a sweet and caffeinated green soda, will be sold in 12-packs of 16-ounce cans branded with the original graphics for $14. Coke said it may expand the drink to other retailers and add to the campaign, depending on how consumers react.

The drink hit the market in 1996, but the last bottles and cans were offered in 2001, two years before the social-networking site Myspace debuted.

Evan Carr, Sean Sheridan and Matt Winans are the three men behind the Facebook Surge movement. They've been trying to get the nostalgic drink back for years now, E! reported. In 2013, they even raised $4,000 to purchase a billboard directly outside Coke's Atlanta headquarters that read: "Dear Coke, we couldn't buy SURGE, so we bought this billboard instead."
