“Guardians of the Galaxy” director James Gunn revealed details about another deleted scene that earned an actor a pot of his favorite childhood toy.

Gunn explained on his official Instagram account he would give out Play-Doh containers to people who did exceptional work on set that day. The director choose Play-Doh because the smell helps him to return to a “child-like” place of creativity.

“I probably only gave about 40 containers out over the entire shoot - on an 85-day schedule with a crew of a couple hundred, that isn't much,” Gunn wrote.

The “Guardians of the Galaxy” director gave a pot of Play-Doh to actor Spencer Wilding who played the Mean Guard in the film. Wilding was rewarded the pot after he gave an amazing performance that ended up being cut from the film.

“Spencer got the Play-Doh for a scene where he danced through the prison listening to Quill's Walkman (specifically, 'Magic' by Pilot),” Gunn explained on his Instagram account.

“We cut the scene for many reasons, but it was awesome and hilarious and Spence more than deserved his rarely-given Play-Doh (and, yes, before you ask me a thousand times below, it WILL be on the Blu-Ray outtakes, and no I will not tell you the release date - you can go see the movie again! It's still out!)...”

Gunn also fought to keep another scene in the film, but ended up losing the battle. The director wanted Marvel co-creator Stan Lee’s cameo to be a little more controversial than it was. Check out the full story about Lee’s cameo here.
