Microsoft is attempting to revive the popularity of the Xbox 360 by releasing a blue version of the console.

Xbox fans will receive a copy of Call of Duty: Ghosts and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, as well as a free month of Xbox Live Gold access, when they buy the blue bundle, according to CNET. The bundle will be available starting on Oct. 7th.

The move follows almost a year after the Redmond, Wash.-based tech giant released the Xbox One. Microsoft has sold over 5 million units of the next-generation console since its debut, but was unable to beat Sony's PlayStation 4, which has sold over 10 million units worldwide.

The blue bundle will be available exclusively at Walmart in the U.S. for $249, The Verge reported.

Other bundles Microsoft looks to sell include one with a black console and a 4GB Kinect bundle that comes with Kinect Adventures, Kinect Sports, and Forza Horizon. Both of these bundles will be available for the same price as the blue bundle.

Microsoft said in an email that it is still behind the Xbox 360, which was launched in 2005, because it still believes that the console is an important product, CNET reported.

"Xbox 360 continues to be an important piece of the Xbox portfolio and still offers amazing games and entertainment experiences to fans," said an Xbox spokesperson . "We're pleased to bring more offerings and price points for fans this holiday."

Gamers will be able to buy black console bundle and Kinect bundle during the upcoming holiday season, and Microsoft added that it will make "many" of the units available in stores outside the U.S.
