Despite being nominated for an Oscar and starring alongside Brad Pitt in the "Curious Case of Benjamin Button," actress Taraji P. Henson said she is still treated like a D-list celebrity.

In an interview with Ebony Magazine for its October 2014 issue, the 43-year-old "Think Like A Man" actress opened up about not feeling respected in the entertainment industry despite her career accomplishments. Henson told the magazine that she does not get the credit she believes she deserves.

"I'm treated like I'm on the D-list," Henson said. "I'm still being considered with actresses who haven't done half the stuff I've achieved. When people tell me 'no,' I get hyped. Because when I prove that I can and will, I love watching people eat crow."

In 2009, Henson was nominated for an Oscar for her portal of Queenie in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" and in 2011, the actress received an Emmy nomination for in "Taken from Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story."

Henson did admit that she isn't above using her celebrity status to get what she wants, especially food.

"[I use it] to get my fat ass into a restaurant," the actress admitted. "If someone tells me there's a wait, I'll walk right to the front of the line like, 'I need a table now. I need to eat, and I want this. So let's work this out.'"

Henson has starred in a number of films including "Hustle & Flow," Tyler Perry's "The Family That Preys," and 2001's "Baby Boy" - which was considered her breakout role.

While promoting her upcoming suspense-thriller, "No Good Deed," on Monday Henson appeared on HuffPost Live and explained that she isn't afraid of doing independent films.

"It's never about the money for me. It's about the craft of acting, and that's what I love to do," she said. "I figure if I keep proving how good I am the money will come. And that's actually what has been happening in my career. It doesn't matter if it's a low budget, an independent, I will still do an independent film today. Because to me those are the most exciting roles, the most challenging, because they're not the Hollywood wrapped up, sewed up at the end, all perfect endings. So I really lean, still, towards the films that don't have big budgets."

The actress currently stars alongside Idris Elba in the thriller "No Good Deed," which hits theaters Sept. 12.
