Apple is now looking at the system that will allow users to customize their device according to their preferences.

Apple CEO Tim Cook announced on an interview with AllThingsD that the company is now looking at the possibility of customization for their iOS devices. This decision was made after a comparison was made about iOS and Android.

It is an advantage that Apple has not allowed customization on their devices because users have a set expectation whenever they purchase a device but it is also a disadvantage as some users prefer customization to suit their preferences. Customization is the advantage that Google Android has over Apple.

In the interview, Cook mentioned that they are already considering customization but couldn't provide a time frame yet of when it is to happen. Apple fans may now have to adapt a wait-and-see attitude but there are rumors that say the change may take effect once Apple releases its iOS 7 which will allow users to customize the home screen and keyboard.

Here is a portion of Tim Cook's announcement in the D11 conference held in California last May 28 to 30 attended by 25 executives from different digital and technology companies.

"As for opening up more programming hooks, I think you will see us open up more in the future. But not to the degree that we put the customer at risk of having a bad experience. We think the customer pays us to make certain choices on our behalf. Some want full control, but not the masses. But will we open up more? Yes".

Cook did not talk a lot about the iOS 7 but revealed the name of the designer of this upcoming operating system-Jonathan Ive. He designed Apple's iMac, iPod and iPhone and has been with Apple since 1992.
