Rumors continue for Apple's much-anticipated iPhone 6, with the latest claiming that the 5.5-inch version of the device will be called the "iPhone 6 Plus."

The Cupertino, California-based company is reportedly introducing two versions of the device on Tuesday, with the 4.7-inch version expected to be called the "iPhone 6," according to Apple Insider.

The rumor was reported on Monday by Japanese Apple blog Macotakara, which added that both variants will be available in space gray, gold, and silver and would offer 16, 32, and 64 gigabytes of storage. The color options and capacities are the same as those of Apple's current line of iPhone 5s devices.

Apple has used "plus" to separate certain products from others in the past, such as with its "Mac Plus" computer, VentureBeat reported.

The company first considered the name "iPhone Plus" or "iPhone +" in January 2013, though the name was originally reported as the "iPhone Math" due to a mistranslation from China, Apple Insider reported.

The unveiling of both versions of the iPhone 6 is expected to take place at a live media event and live stream on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m. Eastern at the Flint Center in Cupertino. The event is also rumored to host the unveiling of another anticipated device, the wearable iWatch.
