And the countdown begins! People Magazine reported that George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin will be getting married very soon.

The 53-year-old Oscar winner and his 36-year-old international law attorney fiancée attended their very first red carpet event together for the Celebrity Fight Night Gala in Florence, Italy on Sunday - where the actor revealed that he would be getting married in Venice, Italy in a few weeks.

"I met my lovely bride-to-be here in Italy, whom I will be marrying, in a couple of weeks, in Venice, of all places," Clooney, who was the guest of honor, said on stage while receiving a Humanitarian Award

A source told E! Online that the actor then said "[I] love you very much," to Alamuddin while accepting his award.

The black-tie affair was held in support of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation and the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center. People reported that it is the first time the event has taken place outside of the U.S.

Clooney wore a black suit, while his wife-to-be donned a black strapless gown by Dolce & Gabanna. People added that Clooney kept his attention on Alamuddin - putting his arm around her while the couple laughed and whispered to one another. Alamuddin was also seen resting her head on Clooney's shoulder.

The couple announced their engagement back in April after seven months of dating. In August, Clooney - who proposed with a 7-carat-plus ring featuring an emerald-cut diamond - and Alamuddin reportedly received their marriage license in London at Chelsea Town Hall.

Alamuddin was recently photographed with her mother, Barria, leaving Alexander McQueen's headquarters in Clerkenwell, East London, which sparked rumors that the designer would be creating a dress for the British lawyer.
