HP announced two new machines with different screen sizes, using Intel's latest processor. In an official press release on Thursday, HP said the 11-inch and 14-inch Chromebooks will add to the existing range of affordable Chromebooks.

Both Chrome-based notebooks feature a stylish design in an ultra-slim, lightweight chassis. The 11-inch model replaces the ARM-based Exynos processor in the predecessor with Intel's Bay Trail Celeron processor. It sports 16GB of eMMC storage along with 100GB Google Cloud storage, 2GB or 4GB RAM, two USB ports, HDMI output, HD webcam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and optional 4G LTE connectively. The 11.6-inch display, when measured diagonally, packs a 1366x768 pixel resolution and a 3-cell battery runs the machine for up to 8 hours.

HP's latest 14-inch Chromebook features are almost similar with a few tweaks. Powered by the latest NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, the 14-inch HP Chromebook boosts efficiency and offers improved battery life. It boasts 16GB or 32GB SSD that can be paired with either 2GB or 4GB RAM. The 14-inch machine offers similar battery performance and is slimmer and lighter with a silent fan-less design.

Both Chromebook models have blazing fast operations, quick boot time and access to Google Apps along with third party apps like Hulu, Netflix or streaming via Chromecast.

The HP Chromebooks come in new, vibrant colors, like Ocean Turquoise, Snow White and Twinkle Black. The 14-inch model can be customized with additional colors, including Smoke Silver, Sorbet Orange, Ocean Turquoise or Neon Green. Starting at $279.99, the 11-inch model is expected to go on sale in the U.S. starting Oct. 5, while the 14-inch HP Chromebook gets a later data for Oct. 22 with a price tag of $299.99.
