The people of Afghanistan are starting to play with a new type of gun.

Abbas Rizaiy, the owner of the "Eagle" paintball club in central Kabul, recently brought the game of paintball to Afghanistan, according to The Associated Press.

It's beginning to become a popular leisure activity in a country that's been accustomed to firearms for decades.

"These people deserve to have more fun," Rizaiy tells AP.

It seems that people in Afghanistan are enjoying this new trend brought to their country.

"We can use guns for positive things and also for negative things," customer Ali Noori tells AP. "These guns are for entertainment."

Another group of friends completely unfamiliar with the strategy of the game tells AP they had fun running around and shooting each other with the paintballs.

Since the fall of the Taliban, leisure activities have been springing up in the country one by one. Along with paintball there is also a bowling alley, a nine-hole golf course and even some pools.

These activities are generally geared towards Afghanistan's upper-class males because they can afford admission, and it's looked down upon for women to participate in activities when there are around men outside her family, according to AP.
