Bruce Springsteen can now add "author" to his list of talents, as he is set to release a children's book, according to The Guardian.

The book, called "Outlaw Pete," is based on Springsteen's song of the same name from his 2009 "Working on a Dream" album.

According to the book's publishers, Simon & Schuster, the book is "based on the celebrated song about a bank-robbing baby whose exploits become a meditation on sin, fate and freewill."

"Outlaw Pete," the song, was inspired by the 1950s book "Brave Cowboy Bill," which Springsteen's mother used to read to him when he was young, according to Bruce Springsteen's website.

Springsteen also said "Outlaw Pete," the book, "...is essentially the story of a man trying to outlive and outrun his sins."

Frank Caruso, the book's illustrator, said in a statement: "When Bruce wrote 'Outlaw Pete,' he didn't just write a great song, he created a character. ... Like Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn, Dorothy Gale ... Outlaw Pete cuts deep into the folklore of our country and weaves its way into the fabric of great American literary characters."

The book is scheduled to be published on Nov. 4. and is available for pre-order.
